Dr. Lanouar Charfeddine (LCD) is an associate Professor of Economics at the College of Business and Economics at Qatar University (AACSB accredited). Dr. Lanouar holds two research master degrees one in international economics, and the second in finance and econometrics. He got his Ph.D in Economics (Applied Econometrics) from Paris II University, France. Dr. Lanouar has an extensive experience in econometrics modeling, energy economics and environmental issues. He has published more than 40 articles in peer-reviewed journals with high impact factors including Energy Economics, Energy, Energy Policy, Renewable and Sustainable Energy Review, Cleaner Energy Production, Energy Studies, Economic Modeling, Applied Economics, Emerging Market Review, Physica A : Statistical Mechanisms and Applications, among many others.

Dr. Lanouar has been awarded 4 QNRF UREP research grants since 2016 where three of them are technically completed. Two of these three grants are selected and short listed by QNRF as among the highest competitive UREP project in terms of outcomes. The fourth UREP grant is in progress. Dr. Lanouar has also been awarded multiple other grants funded by Qatar Financial Center (QFC) and Qatar University. He is also a PI in a cluster project funded by Qatar foundation for an amount of $2,578,981.00. All of these projects investigated the case of the Qatar economy.

Dr. Lanouar Charfeddine has taught several courses related to this project. Currently, he teaches the courses of Energy economics, Microeconomics and Econometrics at Qatar University. Other courses taught include: Time Series Analysis, Nonlinear Models, Numerical Methods in Finance, Numerical Analysis, among many others. He is also a member of many committees for international conferences organization.
In addition, Dr. Lanouar is currently serving as an editor in the Cogent Economic and Finance, and the Review of European Studies. Furthermore, he is a reviewer for many well ranked journals including the Energy Journal (IAEE), Economic Letters, Economic Modelling, Energy Economics to cite only few.

Since September 2015, Dr. Lanouar is the organizer and the coordinator of the research seminar in the department of Finance and Economics at the College of Business and Economics at Qatar University. He has provided several trainings to some local Qatar research centres in the field of design and administration of surveys, and macroeconomic modelling and forecasting. Dr. Lanouar master several econometrics software including Matlab, Gauss, Eviews, Stata, Lisrel, Amos, R-Project. He masters also professional software’s of editing, Latex (Winedit) and Beamer for professional for presentation. Dr. Lanouar will help, participate and contribute to the overall achievement of this project and its expected outcomes. As LPI, Dr. Lanouar will coordinate between the inside Qatar and outside Qatar teams. He will also coordinate with the different partner institutions, stakeholders, and end-users such as Kahramaa, Qatar Petroleum, Qatar Gas, Ministry of Municipality and Environment etc.
